Step-By-Step Instructions

Once you have printed out the template, cut out the template pieces, and gathered your supplies, we can start making the flower! This begins at step 4 from the instructions PDF.

Step 4: Make the centre

The centre is made of a rectangular strip, and stem covering strips are used to wrap the base of the central pod to the stem wire.

Twist the centre of the rectangular strip so it looks like a bowtie.

Glue the top edges of the bowtie together.

Glue the bottom sides together, forming a cup shape.

Take the cotton ball and stuff it into the cup.

Place the stem wire inside.

Glue it closed around the stem.

Glue and wrap a stem covering strip around the bottom.

Step 5: Cut and attach the fringe to the stem

Rectangle of crepe paper to make the fringe (stamens).

After cutting the fringe.

Roll up the fringe and roll it between your hands to give it some texture.

After unrolling it.

Glue and roll the base of the fringe around the central pod.

After attaching the fringe.

Step 6: Cut and shape petals

Cut out 6 petals.

Roll the petals and twist the roll to give it texture.

Stretch the centre of the petal to give it a cupped shape.

Stretch the top edge of the petal to ruffle the edge.

Step 7: Attach petals

Put glue along the bottom of the petal.

Attach the petal.

After attaching 3 petals evenly around the centre.

Attach the final 3 petals evenly around the flower.

After attaching all the petals.

Step 8: Wrap the stem

Step 9: Cut and attach leaves
