Step-By-Step Instructions

Once you have printed out the template, cut out the template pieces, and gathered your supplies, we can start making the flower! This begins at step 4 from the instructions PDF.

Step 4: Cut out crepe paper from template

Step 5: Create centre of a bloom

The pieces for one bloom.

Bend a loop at the end of the wire.

Glue and wrap the strip from template piece 1 around the wire.

Wrap the paper down at least 3 inches down the wire.

Bend the tip of the wire so the bloom will face sideways.

Step 6: Stretch and shape temple pieces 2-5

Step 7: Attach lip and column

Step 8: Attach petals and sepals

Attach petals at 10 and 2 o’clock positions.

After attaching petals.

Attach 2 sepals at 4 and 2 o’clock positions.

View from the side.

Attach final sepal at 12 o’clock position.

View from the side.

Repeat to create the other 2 blooms.

Step 9: Attach blooms to main stem

Put the end of a stem wire next to the main stem with about 1.5-2” overlap. Glue and wrap a strip of stem covering over the overlapping portion to attach the bloom to the stem.

After wrapping about 2”, add the next bloom and continue wrapping.

Repeat to add third bloom.

Step 10: Attach leaves

After wrapping down to the position where you want to add leaves, glue a leaf to the stem.

Wrap around the base of the leaf with stem covering strip.

Glue on the next leaf.

Wrap the bottom of the leaf.

Repeat to add third leaf.

After adding final leaf, continue to wrap down to the end of the stem.
