Step-By-Step Instructions

Once you have printed out the template, cut out the template pieces, and gathered your supplies, we can start making the flower! This begins at step 4 from the instructions PDF.

Step 4: Cut out crepe paper from template

Step 5: Glue centre from template piece 1

If using wire for the stem, first bend a loop at the end.

Wrap strip cut from template piece 1 around the top of the stem.

Continue wrapping down about an inch.

The wrapped centre of the flower.

Step 6: Assemble wired petals from template piece 4

Apply glue along the edge of half a petal and place wire along the edge.

Place the other petal half over the wire.

Apply glue along the centre of the beard.

Apply the beard at the base of the petal.

Repeat to form all of the wired petals.

Step 7: Stretch the petals

Stretch the top edge of petals cut from template piece 2 and the edges of the wired petals. Unstretched petals on the left and stretched petals on the right.

All of the stretched petals.

Step 8: Attach petals

Apply glue to bottom 1-2 cm of petals from template piece 2 and glue them around the centre.

The glued inner petals.

Apply glue to the base of the inner wired petals and attach them.

The attached petals.

Take stem covering, glue and wrap it around the base of the petals to reinforce them.

After wrapping.

Attach the last 3 petals at positions between the previous 3 petals.

Step 9: Cover the stem and attach leaf

Glue and wrap the stem covering around the bottom of the petals and wrap down the stem a few inches.

Glue on the leaf.

Continue wrapping down the entire stem.

Step 10: Open up the petals

Curl the outer petals downwards.

After curling the outer petals.

Curl the inner wired petals in the shape of a C inwards.

After curling all of the petals you are done!
